If you have a coin collection and are looking to make some upgrades, bringing some of your collection to sell in exchange for coins you’ve long sought to purchase is a great way of maximizing the value of your collection. Right now, we’re focused strongly on buying rare coins in Indianapolis, IN, and some coins in particular are at the top of our current want list. The coins we’re most excited about at the moment are Morgan Silver Dollars and Peace Silver Dollars—if you happen to have these coins in your collection, you’ll be interested to know that we’re paying top dollar for them. If you haven’t considered selling yours, this may be just the time to start thinking about it.
Morgan Silver Dollars
It used to be that you basically couldn’t get rid of Morgan Silver Dollars, and it’s true that many of the issues aren’t especially rare or desirable to anyone but a beginning collector of Morgan Silver Dollars. But some of the Morgan Silver Dollars are very hard to come by and highly sought after. During the coin’s years of production, between 1878 and 1904, and again in 1921, you’ll find some issues very well represented among collectors and others—particularly the 1895 issue, of which only proof specimens are known to exist—are virtually impossible to find. A lack of consistency in the quantities minted from year to year makes Morgan Silver Dollars an exciting subfield for coin collectors to delve into. We’d love to see any Morgan Silver Dollars in your collection.
Peace Silver Dollars
Minted from 1921 to 1928 and again in 1934 and 1935, Peace Silver Dollars, like Morgan Silver Dollars, were once regarded as less than interesting specimens by many collectors. But with silver prices on the rise, Peace Silver Dollars, too, are experiencing something of a boom. While uncirculated Peace Silver Dollars are most desirable, even a good condition coin is likely to fetch you a decent sum. Unlike the Morgan Silver Dollars, the Peace Silver Dollar was minted pretty consistently during its day, with 1921 and 1928 being atypically rare years and the 1934 and 1935 coins being slightly more difficult to find than most. Design variations also play a considerable part in the overall value of the coins. If you’re unsure of the value of the Peace Silver Dollars in your collection, now might be a good time to find out.
The great thing about Diamond Stamp & Coin is that, even if you don’t have Morgan or Peace Silver Dollars you’re interested in selling, you may have other coins or collectibles we’d be interested in purchasing from you.
